These are some keto tips and tricks you must know:
Drink lots of water and take collagen for skin elasticity from day one. This is important because making a drastic change in your way of eating such as going on keto may cause you to experience some hair loss, nail brittleness, and sometimes bad skin.
This is especially possible in the beginning (although it does get normal after a while).
However, for added insurance (and especially if you’re currently experiencing these symptoms), it’s very beneficial to take a collagen supplement daily to keep your hair, skin, and nails as healthy as possible.
You can find these here.
Many people have reported feeling extremely sick after cheat days or meals. Not only this, many have also reported that it has taken them close to a week to get back into ketosis once they’ve cheated.
Therefore, instead of cheating, try to find a way to make what you’re craving keto friendly.
Cheat meals/days can also make it very hard to kick carb and sugar cravings. Therefore, instead of having cheat days/meals opt for finding a keto version of the food you want.
There is most likely a delicious keto version of it somewhere on the internet. You can also try out this big list of keto snacks that you can really enjoy. Trust me, you haven’t heard of most of them!
The thing with fat…
You don’t need to ‘add’ excessive amounts of fat to everything. Ketosis will happen by restricting carbohydrates and not by adding fat.
So, if you have fat on your body to burn, you don’t need to add so much into your eating regime.
Do Lots Of Research
Read lots of tips and ideas from different people. You’ll most likely get some amazing ideas that can help you make this journey super easy from learning from other peoples experiences.

Importance of food scales
It’s super important to weigh what you eat. Eyeballing can have you eating twice as much as you should unknowingly. Which in turn can play a big part in you not seeing results as quickly as possible.
So, if you’ve ever plateaued or have not seen any results since you started keto, try weighing your food from now on. This could very well be one of your best keto success tips.
You can find a great quality digital food scale here.
You don’t need to run out a buy coconut flour, almond flour, MCT oils, and all these other items when you’re just starting out. In fact, some of these things can be pricey and make you feel overwhelmed on this journey.
Instead, try to get them as time goes by and as you can afford them. Keeping it simple in the beginning is a very smart strategy for long-term success.
The importance of electrolytes
Electrolytes are incredibly important! This can help you feel less sick and tired throughout the day. Many people on keto seem to complain about feeling sick or extremely tired throughout the day.
If you experience this, chances are you need some electrolytes in your body.
What are they?
According to Medical News Today,
Electrolytes are chemicals that conduct electricity when mixed with water.
They regulate nerve and muscle function, hydrate the body, balance blood acidity and pressure, and help rebuild damaged tissue.
Symptoms of electrolyte imbalance
Symptoms will depend on which electrolyte is out of balance and whether the level of that substance is too high or too low.
- excessive tiredness
- muscle spasm

To combat this, drink salt water or pickle juice or add jigsaw packets in your water to feel better.

A great way to get an extra boost your results on keto is by incorporating intermittent fasting. It’s essentially eating during an eating window and fasting for a vast portion of the day.
Usually, people follow the 16:8 schedule, which allows them to eat during eight hours of the day and fast for 16 hours.
Trying this can help you get results faster or help you get out of a plateau.
You can learn more about this here.
If you love cheese and have been consuming lots of shredded cheese, be aware that shredded cheese contains potato starch. It’s added as a way to keep the cheese from sticking together. Potato starch isn’t recommended for anyone attempting keto as it contains carbs.
So, instead of buying prepackaged shredded cheese, buy a block of cheese and shred it at home.
Constipation can be a major issue for people who are eating keto friendly foods. It can happen for a number of reasons such as eating too much dairy, and not enough fiber. It happens a lot to people who are newer to keto and are still trying to find a good balance of carb, fat, and protein.
If you’re suffering from constipation, try a few of these things :
- Drink Plenty of Water
- Eat less dairy
- Eat More Fibrous Vegetables
- Try bulletproof coffee
Calories absolutely matter. Being on keto doesn’t give you the green light to eat excessive amounts of food. This is one of the ideas that many keto beginners seem to have, but, you need to be aware of how much food you’re eating on the keto lifestyle to be successful.
Pay attention to the carbs in spices or seasonings. It may not be a lot, but they add up quickly and make you go over your daily carb macros.
Weigh-ins vs body Measurements
If you find that you’re not seeing results, try to step away from the scale and take measurements of your body as well as progress pictures instead to see how you’re progressing.
Oftentimes, the scale may not be moving, but you may be losing inches all over your body.
Also, don’t compare yourself to any else as everyone’s results are different
Also, remember this is a lifestyle change and you may not see results immediately but if you stick to it you will see results.

Your article was very interesting. I have been doing this all wrong. Not counting and not aware of the hidden carbs, like in the shredded cheese or spices. Also the information about electrolytes helping and tomatoes being high in carbs. I will try this and keep searching for more ideas. Thank you for the help.
This was very helpful. I wasnt realizing about quantity of food or even tomatoes as hidden carbs. Glad to hear I don’t have to eat a large quantity of meats. Not my favorite food. Good to read about useful sugars.
