You’ve been thinking of starting the ket diet for a while. You’ve probably even started it but everything may seem so confusing. What do you eat for breakfast other than eggs? What about lunch and dinner? How about keto snacks? These are all question that often comes up for many people on this diet.

Today, we’ve put together a massive list of keto meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snack ideas, to help you get through your first month on the keto diet. 

What is the keto diet

A keto diet is one in which most carbs have to be cut out of the diet and replace with high fats and moderate protein. 

This means that meals will need to be drastically different from what you’ve gotten used to so far. Things like wheat flours, sugars, rice, root vegetables, fruits and so much more have to be cut out and substituted with other low carb options. Because of this, many people may find this diet super hard to follow. This is what this post is, therefore, It should help you get through the hardest part of the keto diet ie the fits month when you’re new and still confused and learning. 

How to follow the keto diet correctly

To ensure that you follow this diet correctly and see the results you want, you will need to do these things:

  • Follow a proper meal plan as outlined here
  • Cut out the carbs in your current diet
  • Always follow a good keto grocery list when shopping for food

Benefits of using a meal plan on the keto diet

Meal planning is very important and beneficial for a few reasons such as:

It helps you save time and be less stressed: Most people will quickly quit the keto diet because it seems so hard. You can’t just grab something on the go for fear that it is high in carbs and sugar which means most times, you have to prepare your own food. What’s more, these are ingredients that you’re not used to. I remember my first attempt at cooking with coconut flour (it was a disaster!). But, having a meal plan ready can help you save a lot of time and maybe learn about how to cook with the ingredients beforehand.

  • Search all over the internet for a recipe for say, lunch.
